My Contributions ::

• Led a team of 3 designers and collaborated with the photography, curation and logistics teams for the project.
• Defined the visual identity for the 30th edition of the magazine.
• Created layouts and illustrations to supplement the content.
• Supported the logistics team in collating requirements and coordinating with the printers.
• Worked with the team to design marketing campaigns for the magazine, targeting the student community.

Context

Kshitij is the student-driven, annual college periodical of my alma mater, K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai. With over 30 years of rich history, it has developed a culture of motivating students to experiment and go beyond their academic limitations and explore literature, design and team management.

I'm particularly proud of my work on Kshitij. It was the first design team I led with complete creative freedom. Through trial and error, I learned how to plan, lead, negotiate and execute a real-world project with deadlines that had consequences. Working on Kshitij was gratifying not just in terms of the final product we were able to deliver, but also the relationship we developed with each other as a team. For a team of young to-be designers, it was a dream come true to have such an investment in our ability from the college management.
